A True Friend Listens

Team, I’m excited to be giving Matthew a break from writing the daily message. We have a lot of great things happening, so he’s going to be focused on working with you all directly to ensure that you all have the skills to handle the great deals that are coming our way. And for the rest of this week I’ll be sending out the daily messages. As always, we need your feedback!

Do you know the difference between listening and waiting to talk? I only ask because since learning the difference myself, I began to pay closer attention in my conversations. Listening involves receiving and appreciating the information given. Summarizing what was said, then being able to ask a question about it. All too often I see the reverse where someone expresses themselves then we jump right back with a response without acknowledging or contemplating what was said.

I bring this up because as a team and as professionals it's important for us to truly understand the things that are coming our way. We have clients who will tell us what they want, and we’ll make more money by understanding and helping them to get it. More importantly we’ll achieve more as a team if we share an understanding of what we each want and expect from one another.

In today’s world we have so much coming at us from Facebook, TV, even our phones send us messages and it becomes vital that we work on how we listen to discover what’s important. Teamwork, and success are achieved through understanding. So as we all work together, let’s also work on truly hearing what each of us has to say and making it a point to respond accordingly..

Peace.
