HOW TO GET THE EXACT POSITION YOU DESIRE
Everyone enjoys doing the kind of work for which he is best suited. An artist loves to work with paints, a craftsman with his hands, a writer loves to write. Those with less definite talents have their preferences for certain fields of business and industry. If America does anything well, it offers a full range of occupations, tilling the soil, manufacturing, marketing, and the professions.
Fifth. Forget about “a job.” Forget whether or not there is an opening. Forget the usual routine of “have you got a job for me?” Concentrate on what you can give.
Use What You Have to Get What You Want
Everyone has some kind of legitimate skill that they can exchange for money. The problem is that some people have yet to discover what that skill is. Our school system teaches us to learn a skill so that we can go to college in order to get a job, but what does our school system teach us about being happy?
What lessons can you recall about your days in elementary school, middle school, and high school that talked about how to go about being happy in life? I can’t recall any lessons that I learned, I’m sure there had to be a few lessons here and there but I can’t recall any lessons that stuck with me.
I was watching a Mike Tyson interview and the subject of money came up as it usually does during one of his interviews. He spoke of how he is happier now with less money doing what he likes. When he was making millions he was on drugs and always into trouble, but after losing hundreds of millions he was able to clear his head and focus on the things that he wanted to do for himself instead of what everyone else wanted him to do.
Tyson has taken his experiences and used them to help others while making money in the process. Whether it’s his books, Broadway show, or enlightening interviews, he’s found a way to be happy and make money by giving back. I’m sure that he gets all kinds of offers to get in the ring and make a spectacle of himself, but I doubt that he’ll be taking on any of those offers in the near future.
Tyson’s story is a good one and serves as an example to show that regardless of your past you can still pursue the things that you want to do with the skills that you have and make money in the process regardless of what others may think about your abilities. After all, who would have thought (in 1990) that in the future Mike Tyson would be performing on Broadway? Sure as heck not me!
