Team,
Do you have the right tools to make it “do what it do”?
When I’m working, I normally operate off of two monitors. And sometimes I’ll work on two computers with two monitors each; making a total of four monitors! Some may think that’s a bit much, but for me it’s just the way my mind works. Honestly, I could really use one supercomputer with six monitors, so to currently be down to only one is going to be a bit of a challenge for me. The good thing is that it’s only a temporary challenge.
What about you? How many monitors do you use? Do you have a mouse or are you using the touch pad? How fast is your computer? Do you know how to use the cleaning features on the computer? Or how about the features on the google apps that we’re using? Do you know how to use the features of the various google apps to make your day go smoother?
One good thing about technology is that it allows us to work from home, the bad part is that as a trainer I’m unable to watch how one is getting things done. Each time that I’m able to shadow someone I can point out ways to move a little faster on the computer, and help with productivity.
My point is that in order to get through your daily tasks efficiently, you have to have the right tools and the training to use them effectively. If it’s taking you a long time to do one thing, then perhaps you’re missing the right tools or you need more training in that particular area. Can you think of another reason why it would take a long time for someone to do one thing?
We’re here to help, but we need for everyone to be upfront about their struggles when it comes to performing their day to day tasks. That’s the only way we can create the ultimate training program for this team. One tool that we shared with everyone is the “Team Questions” tool.
The Team Questions form allows you to submit your questions, and can be found on this blog; see the button to the right of this article. Please use this to submit any questions you may have about the deals, procedures, or anything you need answers on. One of the reasons that we use these forms is that it reduces the number of emails that we send out and receive. Can you imagine how full your inbox would be if you had to read and respond to every note update using just email?
We simply want to make sure that everyone has the right tools and information to help get the job done faster. We also want everyone to know that we do read all of the responses that you all are providing. We haven’t responded to them in the past 1 ½ weeks because there’s been so much going on and I have been away from the computer quite a bit. Just know that we do read and deeply consider each response to these articles! So if there’s something that you wrote and would like some follow up on, use your “google calendar tool” and set up an appointment to discuss.
As always, make it a great day!!
