Have you all listened to the Brian Tracy audio that was sent out last week? Click Here for a copy. I’ve listened to this lecture over and over again and I get something good out of it every time.
While listening to it last week, I tuned in to the part where he talked about researching and writing down all of the things that need to be done in order to become successful at something; he then went on to say that you must be willing to do everything on the list if you want to become successful.
What he said next is so powerful and so true, he said: “The good thing about the list is that you won’t have to do everything on the list to become successful, you just have to be WILLING to do everything on the list”! The problem that we tend to have with ourselves is that we have so much that we “don’t want to do”.
Of course it’s true that we have to have our boundaries and limits, but far too often we’ll enter into a situation talking about “Why do I need to do this” or “Why do I need to do that” or “I don’t want to do this and I don’t want to do that”....we say these things instead of, “OK, I’m willing to do this” or “I’m willing to do that”. The important thing about this mindset is that if you’ve done adequate research on your field, you will have a feeling as to whether what’s being asked of you is in your best interest or not.
Jim Rohn says that life doesn’t give us what we want, it gives us what we deserve. This sounds about right to me. I think when we work smart and diligently that opportunities begin to come in from every angle, at least this has been the case with my life. Everything in my life is not exactly how I would like it to be, however, I am pleased and overjoyed with every opportunity that I have; I am so thankful for the team that I’m a part of. I’m so thankful for some of the opportunities that didn’t work out. There is so much to be thankful with all of us, if you think this isn’t true you probably haven’t checked your pulse lately :)
Nevertheless, I found this image online and wanted to share it with you all, it list various habits/traits of successful and unsuccessful people. What habits do you have that other successful people have? What is YOUR definition of success? What does success look like for you? Are you willing to do ALL of the things that successful people do in order to be successful.
