Wasted Talent

There is no fixed price for sound IDEAS!

Back of all IDEAS is specialized knowledge. Unfortunately, for those who do not find riches in abundance, specialized knowledge is more abundant and more easily acquired than IDEAS. Because of this very truth, there is a universal demand and an ever-increasing opportunity for the person capable of helping men and women to sell their personal services advantageously. Capability means IMAGINATION, the one quality needed to combine specialized knowledge with IDEAS, in the form of ORGANIZED PLANS designed to yield riches.

Wasted Talent

On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest & best), how would you rate yourself in terms of the “frequent and productive use of your greatest talent”? I give myself an 8. However, if I asked myself this question a year ago I would have given myself a 5, and I would have probably given myself and even lower score for the years prior. In order to answer this, you have to know what your greatest and most natural talent is. Do you know?

On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest & best), how would you rate your “planning abilities”? I give myself an 8 here as well. I’ve always been a pretty good planner, the problem is I haven’t always made plans that involved my “specialized knowledge”.

On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest & best), how would you rate your ability to “Take Action”? I’d give myself an 11 because I’m always ready to take action, however, being an 11 in this area isn’t always a good thing. I’m mean it’s a great thing to be ready to pull the trigger, but only if you have great aim.

My “aim” in life hasn’t always been the greatest, so sometimes I’ll miss my target which we all do from time to time. The question is are we hitting our target more than missing?

The above excerpt from the book was written over 75 years ago and the message that the author delivered still stands true today. There are millions of people out there with GREAT ideas and lots of talent that simply don’t know how to organize their plans, and some will end up broke and unsuccessful; it doesn’t have to end up this way.

Blocking Time to determine whether or not we’re making the best use of our God given talents is very important. Time goes by really fast, so why spend it chasing the wrong dream?
