What is the difference between the “Underachiever” and the “Overachiever”?
In my opinion the Underachiever will not block time to study his trade, whereas the Overachiever is hungry to learn everything they can about their trade. I think that in the beginning, most of us have the mindset of an Overachiever, but as time goes on we get comfortable...and the next thing you know we’re behaving like an Underachiever.
Lately I’ve been behaving and studying like an Underachiever, I say this because at one point I was doing a lot of research and studying things related to my field. However, over the past couple of months I’ve slacked off big time. Don’t get me wrong, I study daily, however I haven’t done so with the level of intensity needed to reach my goals.
This became clear as I watched a webinar yesterday; the topic was on outsourcing (another word for team building in my opinion). I was reminded of so many things that I used to be really focused on. What happened? What did I let get in the way? Although I have some GREAT excuses, I don’t have any good answers.
How have you been behaving lately? Have you been behaving like an Overachiever or an Underachiever?
I dug up some past research to share with you all this morning, hopefully you all will review it closely and ask questions if you have any.
Home Inspections - This is a very important topic. This link will give you information on handling inspections for your client...whether your client is the buyer or seller, you MUST have a clear understanding of how this process works. Otherwise your client may lose their EMD, and then YOU may lose your client!
RedBook - This link has just about every legal topic on Michigan Real Estate that you need to know. I stacked page 67 on top because at the time I was dealing with an agent that didn’t want to release my client’s emd. We got it back and I retained the client, but it wasn’t easy. I had to make sure that I was 100% clear on the law before going to war with the other agent. It as an easy battle for me to fight (and win) because I was equipped.
Real Estate According to Mike Ferry (My Notes) - When I joined Jeff Glover’s team a while back, he recommended that I read the book Real Estate According to Mike Ferry - Click Here. I finished the book in less than 3 days (with notes taken). I also downloaded (and listened to) every Mike Ferry DVD that they had at the office: Click Here.
Again, I’ve realized that I haven’t been studying and researching like I need to be doing, and I am committed to changing that! I love to read, learn, and think critically about topics that will make a difference in not only my life but for those around me as well.
I have a book that I keep saying that I’m going to read but in 2-3 weeks I haven’t done so. The book is called: Social Intelligence: The New Science of Human Relationships - Click Here I am going to start this book today and I’m going to give myself two weeks to finish it.
To be continued….
