This morning I woke up at 12:30am and now it’s 4am as I start to write this post. What I’ve learned about myself is that I can be more productive at certain times of the day depending on what’s going on in my personal and business life.
I’m more productive on the “midnight shift” when the team has a lot of momentum, I think this has a lot to do with me wanting the team (and clients) to be equipped with my responses once their day is started. The flip side of this is that I’m not going to be productive during the day, which means the team and the clients will have to adjust to my “daytime absence”....which is why I’m making it a point to make everyone aware of my new schedule change.
We all have periods where there’s a lot going on in our lives and we have to get an early jump on things, and then there are some periods in our lives that we can wake up when we’re finished sleeping (I like those periods). I think that an unwritten goal that we all share is to get 8 hours of sleep every night and wake up at the time that’s best for us.
Food for thought:
What time of the day or night are you most productive?
What time does your ideal work day start / finish?
If you could change one thing about your schedule what would it be?
What do you not seem to have enough time for in your day?
What would you like to be doing more of?
What do you need to do less of?
