These days there is so much to plan for, and if we’re in the real estate business, we have about 3-4 times more to plan for than most people. Not only do we have to make plans for ourselves and our families, we also have to make plans for people that are investing large amounts of money...some for the first time. With so much planning to do, taking action can sometimes be a challenge.
I’ve made planning a huge part of my real estate business, hence my email address: ARealEstatePlan4u@Gmail.com. However, I’ll sometimes get too caught up in making plans that I’ll find myself over planning. This usually happens when someone that I’ve made a plan for doesn’t follow the original gameplan. My problem is that I’ll sometimes jump in too quickly to put a backup plan in place, and then if that doesn’t work I’ll come up with another. I don’t get caught up in over planning like I used to; I’ve been focusing on making “Prioritizing a Priority”.
One thing I’ve been doing recently is writing in a notebook more….an actual paper notebook. I keep it by the bed and I write before I go to sleep and after I wake up. I write out my goals, I’ll write stories, blog post. I’ll also write at least a couple pages of things that I need to make a priority. Then throughout the day I’ll flip through my notebook and cross things off. The more that I do it the more productive I become.
When we “Prioritize our Priorities” we become more productive and happy; one of the greatest feelings in the world is to see plans that we’ve made come together. And although failing can make us stronger, no one wants to live life continuously failing due to the lack of execution on our plans of action. The fact is that we would fail less if we made better plans and prioritized better.
There’s so much to learn in life, and that is why I think we need to spend more time Prioritizing our Priorities. Make today a great day and have fun at the polls.
