I’ve always been a firm believer that regardless of who is in office, we the people are going to be the ones that can make the biggest difference. And if we don’t do our part in this country, then we’re no better than the elected politicians that we complain about. They have a job to do, and so do we.
One job that “we the people” have is to not only go out and vote but to understand what and who we’re voting for. A lot of us (including myself) went out to the polls ignorant; we had little to no understanding of the majority of things on the ballot.
Although we had time to get an understanding of what was going to be on the ballot prior to the election, a lot of us chose not to do the research. I wasn’t the only one, there were so many people in line googling the candidates. Some even bragged about how they only vote democrat or republican.
The ballot is like a multiple choice test with A, B, & C as the possible answers. To mark all A or B or C down the line and think that we’re going to “get it right” is a pretty silly thought in my opinion; it’s equally as silly as not getting an understanding of what’s on the ballot and what’s not on the ballot. Each year I say that I’m going to do better at knowing what’s on the ballot and each year is just like the previous year. I got to get it together!
Nevertheless, Team Woods still has work to do. We have a lot of great opportunities before us, so we should be doing our best to set an good example for our clients, ourselves, and for everyone watching us by taking advantage of the opportunities before us and use them to help ourselves and to help others.
Our President elect says that he wants to make America great again, well we need to be an example of what greatness is and how great a people can become. So MAKE IT A GREAT DAY and remember, the more time you spend talking about the problem the less time you spend talking about the solution, ya dig?
