Is It Even Worth it?

Each day we make 100’s of decisions as to how we will spend our precious time and energy, and every decision that we make is going to contribute to our happiness or subtract from it.

I believe that we’re all perfectionists in certain areas, meaning that we all have the talent to know exactly how something should look or function and are willing to put in the work in order to see that thing through.

The talent could range from keeping a clean and organized house to a CEO running a Fortune 100 company. In my opinion, one is no more important than the other. It’s all about doing what makes you happy, so if running a large company is what makes you happy then go for it!

Just keep in mind that although we may have the “perfect” business plan or vision, in most cases it’s going to take at least one other person to help make our vision a reality. And we know that anytime that we have to deal with people, it’s hard to predict exactly how things will go.

Therefore we must have a “Happiness Plan”; a plan that we are in 100% control of. A plan that will ensure our happiness despite any outside circumstances. Of course this is easier said than done because life will challenge us, but if happiness and peace of mind is the goal it should be worth planning for and fighting for right?

If flipping two houses per month will make you happy, then go for it! Read, Study, Practice, and Make Mistakes until you’re flipping two houses per month. Just remember that sellers will sometimes be rude, difficult to deal with, hard to reach, and sometimes dishonest.

All of these negative things give us a reason to become angry right? Yes. But just because we have a reason to do something does that mean we should do it? That’s the question that only each person themselves can answer. My thoughts are that we should focus on the actions that will get us closer to being happy and staying happy.

A seller recently made me angry on a deal that we closed last week. We’re at the end of the deal and the seller tried to strong arm me financially which almost caused me to lose my cool and kill the whole deal.

I simply took a breath, looked at the “big picture” and made a decision not to let this seller make me lose focus. I had to remind myself that there are 5+ people getting paid on the deal and if I lose my cool then we will surely lose the deal and I couldn’t let that happen.

When we have a habit of sweating the small stuff, we will continuously lose out on all kinds of opportunities. We’ll even lose out on things that we didn’t even know we had! It’s not always easy keeping our emotions and feelings in check, and this is why I thought it would be a good idea to review this book. I’m really looking forward to it and I hope that you are too!

Make today a great day and and Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff, ya dig?
