Every Little Thing Is Gonna Be Alright

Making peace with imperfection is one of the hardest things that a perfectionist can do.To know how something should be or look and then have to settle for it not being that way can be tough for a perfectionist.

We just have to remember “The Big Picture”. For example, my big picture is that I want to leave a legacy behind for my children. I want to carry out the things that my mother instilled in me. I plan to use real estate and my knowledge of the business to make that happen, and as we all know, there are a lot of imperfect things about the real estate business.

As it relates to marketing in the real estate business for instance, when we’re doing what we’re supposed to do with regards to generating leads, we’re going to have a several leads to call back, and perfection would be calling back, texting, or emailing each lead the day that they called and on the following days if we don't read them on the first day, right?

In reality, we’re not going to be able to call back every lead on the day that the called in. There’s simply not enough time in a day to reach out to every lead and service every client as fast as they want to be serviced (and as fast as we want to service them). In fact, some leads WILL slip through the cracks and may not get a call back at all.

How are you going to feel when this happens? Are you going to try to work “harder” to make sure that it never happens again? Or will you work and think “smarter” by realizing that all leads simply can't be called back and it's most important to focus on the most serious of the serious.

I feel that as long as we are doing our absolute best to service all of our clients, then every little thing is going to be alright. We know when we're giving our best effort; we can’t fool ourselves.

We may fool others every now and then, but eventually short changing people is going to catch up so it’s not even worth the hassle. We simply need to do our absolute best every time and understand in advance that even though we may do our best, we're not always going to get the outcome that we're going after.

Let’s make today a great day and and Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff, ya dig?
