How Can I Help You?

How often are you asked “How can I help you?” by a friend, family member, spouse, or co-worker? Of course we get asked this question when we go out to eat or go shopping, but when it comes to day to day situations, how often are we asked this question?

More importantly, how often are we asking the question? Life can get busy, chaotic, and stressful at times, and although most people generally want to help others, we’ll get caught up in the day to day hustle and forget to stop and ask the people closest to us: “How can I help you?”

Most of us are so busy trying to be helpful that we don’t realize how much time we waste helping others where they don’t need it most. Have you ever been in a situation where someone is trying to help you and you’d rather them stop and let you be?

Or are you the person going around trying to help everyone without understanding where they need it? If we really want to help people, we have to start asking better questions, and we have to listen to the answers. Then we must keep it real with ourselves as to whether we have what it takes to help the person or not.

Sometimes the best help comes in the form of support, meaning that you might not know what type of help you need at that moment, but knowing someone is there ready to do what they can when the time comes is huge.

I’m thankful for the support of the entire team and I’m especially thankful for Nate’s support; he’s made it clear that he supports the Team Woods’ vision. This means a lot to Scott and I because we know that what he has to offer will benefit the entire team, and knowing that his support is there helps us plan better and it also helps us create more opportunities for the team.

Just imagine if everyday we were sincerely asked the question by someone close to us: “How can I help you?”. How would you feel about pursuing your goals and dreams? How would your desire to help others be impacted? I’m not sure, but what I am sure of is that as Ghandi said, we can be the change that we want to see in the world.

We see a lot of crazy challenges on the internet, but I’m going to challenge everyone to ask a team member or family member the question: “How can I help you?” And if you get asked the question, take the time to actually think about a good answer. We all need some kind of help in some way, so don’t act like ya don’t when someone offers to help you, ya dig?

Let’s make today a great day and and Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff.
