Are You Too Busy To Relax?
What happens to us mentally and physically when we don’t don’t get the quiet time that we need? And what happens to us when we don't get enough sleep? Will sleepless nights and a lack of quiet moments makes us happier, give us more energy, and help us make better decisions?
Nowadays, how often do you hear people say “I’m so tired….” before 12pm? What’s happening to our society that’s causing so many people to be so tired all the time? Are we too busy? Compared to 30-40 years ago, do you recall adults and children complaining about being so tired?
These are important questions to ponder because most of us reading this are in sales, so we have to deal with lots of people on a regular basis. And some of those people may appear to be “crazy”, but I think that many of them are just unrested, and at times it’s us who appear to be the “crazy” ones.
I read an article about our current President called, “The President Sleeps 4 Hours a Night. Is That Bad for America?” It describes his sleep habits and how he gets about 4 hours of sleep per night. The question is whether or not that's enough sleep for him? He’s known for saying some really “crazy” things, do you think this is because he’s not getting enough sleep?
A lack of quiet time and relaxation will impact each of us differently, so it’s safe to say that we may not be getting enough quiet time and sleep. I enjoy taking naps during the day, I really NEED them because I typically sleep about 4 hours per night (although lately I have been sleeping much longer), and if I don’t get my naps in I am not myself at all.

Food for thought...
How much sleep do you need per night? Are you a napper? What kind of things are you known to do if you don’t get all of your zzzzz’s? And our clients, what about them? What percentage of them are unrested and how does that impact our deals?
Giving Thanks…
I want to thank my mother and my brother for sharing their “sleep stories” with me when I was going through my sleepness nights, I also want to thank Scott checking in with me each morning and asking “how did I sleep”. And a special thanks to my dr. for proscribing me muscle relaxers. All of these aforementioned contributions have greatly contributed to me getting some great sleep recently.
Let’s make today a great day and and Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff.
