Why Do We Allow People To Irritate Us?

We all have our boiling points. The point that we stop caring and will say or do just about anything if we get pushed too far. For some of us it may take a long time to get to that point, and for others it may take minutes if not seconds.

If you plan to be successful in the real estate business, you’ll need develop some pretty thick skin because people will say and do some things on a regular basis that will test your boiling point.

We can’t stop people from being difficult, but we can change the way we react to them. It takes a lot of practice to not “clap back” every time that we’re put to the test, but when we master the art of remaining calm we’ll expose ourselves to more opportunities.

Another benefit of keeping our cool is that we’ll become more respected. Think about all of the most respected leaders that you’ve known or heard of like Presidents, CEO’s, Professional Athletes, Job Managers/Supervisors, etc. What do all of the respected leaders have in common?

What I’ve noticed is that the most respected leaders are able to keep their cool under high stress situations. Take Obama for instance, he was under a lot of stress while in office, but he always kept his cool. Now there’s a guy with some pretty thick skin.

What about you? Are you known to be hothead ready to go off on someone at a moment’s notice, or are you pretty cool and relaxed when it comes to conflicts? If you’re cool when it comes to conflict, what are some of the things that you do to help keep your cool?

Giving Thanks

I want to thank Nate for always being calm and cool during our conversations, I know that my style of business is very unorthodox and can be confusing at times, but he always makes each conversation a relaxing heartfelt one. A special shout out to Louie at the office as well. Regardless of what’s going on, Louie makes you feel like the most important person in the world when you’re on the phone with him, and he’s a person with a lot going on at a very busy office.

Let’s make today a great day and and Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff.
