I Suppose You Know What You're Doing…
The words “I suppose you know what you're doing” is a sentiment that can sometimes be used to avoid or end a disagreement. Scott enlightened me with these words a while back, at the time I was upset by a team member or client that wasn’t taking my advice.
I can’t recall who the person was or what the situation was about, I just remembering having enough information to prove to the person that I was right; I presented the information with the hopes that the person would understand where I was coming from, but things didn’t go as planned.
I left the conversation frustrated and went on to tell Scott about it. This is when he said: “In situations like this, sometimes the only thing that you can say is I suppose you know what you’re doing”. After giving it some thought I realized he was right. At the time I was passionate about proving my point, and my point wasn’t just about me being right, my point was going to help the overall situation.
Even with that in mind, there’s only so much we can do if what we’re trying to give isn’t being received in the way that we intended; in cases like this we can keep pressing, or we can let it go in order to work on something else going on in our lives.
We’re not going to win all of the battles that we fight, so it only makes sense to choose each one wisely.

Giving Thanks…
I’m thankful for all of the people who have patience with me. It’s one thing to have patience with others, but it’s a true gift when people have patience with us.
Let’s make today a great day and and Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff.
