How to Become a Great Leader, Tip#1: Schedule PRODUCTIVE Team Meetings

Make time to talk to your team as a group and/or one-on-one to find out what the team should be doing more of and less of; their feedback will help you make better decisions, if you listen...and if their feedback is constructive and honest.

As a leader, your main job is to establish the vision, acquire resources, set goals, delegate tasks, and follow up with how the process is going. Therefore, at minimum, team meetings should cover the following:

  • Goals & Objectives: Why are we meeting?

  • Previously Delegated Tasks: Did you complete your last set of tasks?

  • Problems: Where is the team struggling?

  • Success: Where is the team winning?

  • Feedback & Solutions: Is there anything that we need to do more or less of?

  • Create a written agenda for your meetings, and give it to your team prior to the meeting.
