Les Brown is one of the top motivational speakers in the country, and quite possibly the world. He and his brother were born in Florida on the floor of an abandoned building and were adopted by the age of 6 weeks old.
Brown often mentions his love for his adoptive mother (Mamie Brown) and while working as a Disc Jockey in radio, he’d sign off with “This is Mamie Brown’s baby boy…….”
The thing that I love best about Brown’s style of motivation is that he’s a great storyteller and he’s always laughing at his own jokes, his jokes are funny but they’re not that funny, but by him laughing so hard at his own jokes, it makes his listeners laugh.
I like listening to Les Brown during the times when I have a lot of negative energy around me, his positive high-energy travels from his mic on through to the speakers like an arrow at high speed…hitting the bullseye every time!
My favorite things that he says are….
I’ve been listening to Brown for over 15 years, so he is another person that I can literally write a book about because I’m so familiar with his work, but I won’t. I’ll finish with thIs…
- Brown was a member of the Ohio State Board of Representatives.
- Brown was married to Gladys Knight for 2 years.
- Brown still practices today; he and his son were on the Breakfast Club a few months ago talking about new projects they're working on. #BlackFamilyBusiness
- Brown recently met his biological family within the past year, and at that time he learned that his biological mother gave him up for adoption because she got pregnant by a man that was not her husband (husband was away at war), she put him up for adoption to hide her pregnancy.
If you have a lot of negative energy around you, I suggest that you throw on some Les Brown and allow his words to do what it do.
The End.
